MEET SHOW

Design, an Italian story. Italian Design from 1948 to today
Type: Architecture and Design

MEET SHOW is an itinerant show with the title “ Design, an Italian story,” curated by Marco Romanelli. Great masters and young designers, critical analysis and research. A new and special selection of items offers an overview across different types of design from 1948 to present and describes the great work of Italian designers and entrepreneurs.

In the year of the 150th anniversary of the Unity of Italy, the common thread of the show will be Italian style, of which design represents a success story.
Italian design is often described “by exaggerations,” without considering that it is indeed part of our daily life, helping and affecting our most customary deeds: sitting down to read or write, bringing a glass close to our mouth to drink, or arranging flowers in a vase.
The intention is thus not so much to operate by authors, materials, or timeline, as to combine timeline with type form, building true “memory grids” through a chronological sequence of pieces of the same type. This allows to follow the project’s development clearly and objectively, to highlight original items, to stress style change.
